Hello fellow physical media collectors! I want to know your all time favourite DVD/Bluray in your collection and why?
I’ll go first:
I used to have thousands and thousands of DVDs quite a few years ago and I refused to buy Blurays because my OCD would not allow the size difference 😂. But it got too out of control that I reigned it back in, sold them all and now strictly buy Steelbooks of films I rate 9-10 stars or are part of a collection. ANYWAY….
My favourite is this beautiful American Psycho steelbook, with its minimalistic artwork and wonderful graphics. Seeing as it is one of my top 10 films of all time it also has that little extra adoration from me too. WHAT A BEAUTY!
Beautiful! great question! I don’t have hundreds since “The Great Blu Ray Sale of 2021” (I wanted to buy records, ok!) But I really love my 4K collectors edition of Battle Royale that Arrow put out a while back.
Tough question!!
It‘s currently a tie between my 4K Collector Edition of Robocop and The Thing. Sorry - I can’t be expected to favour one over the other! 😂
I've always been very fond of my DVD copy of Le Pacte Des Loups (2001). Not for it being in fancy packaging or any Bonus Features. I saw the movie in the theater and was blown away. Then shortly after I purchased the DVD, I got my first Dolby Surround Home entertainment system. I lived in an apartment and was only a few years out of college in 2002/2003 so it was kind of a big deal. Anyway, I'd watch the opening scene of that movie (the brawl in the mud & rain) over and over in full surround sound. It was glorious. I know it's been upgraded at least to BluRay, which I haven't picked up, but I may have to at least break that DVD out again soon.
